Guide Review - Review of Action Game ‘Mirror's Edge' for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
Based on the console sleeper hit, Mirror's Edge is a tough, beautiful action game that really shows off what the iPad can do. Like the original, you play an athletic female rebel working to destroy a corrupt government. The twist is that you don't have any weapons. Instead, you must use your gymnastic skills to infiltrate buildings, disarm troops and avoid enemy helicopters. Mirror's Edge will have you running - a lot - mostly on futuristic skyscrapers and skyline roofs, blurring through levels like a rocket, watching the parallax (a fancy word for layered) scenery fly by. It's quite breathtaking. It is also very hard, as the high speed requires fast reflexes. Luckily the continue system is pretty liberal and the training modes help you get into tip top shape. Even better is the iPad split-screen multiplayer mode, which has you racing face to face with a friend. Both gorgeous and challenging, Mirror's Edge is worth a look.
