Guide Review - Game Review of Old-School Maze Game ‘Cameltry’ for iPhone and iPod Touch

A slow-paced action title, Cameltry takes the classic wooden labyrinth games and adds plenty of proverbial chutes and ladders. The goal is to get the marble to the finish line while collecting as many bonus points as possible. The twist is that the maze, not the marble, is turned to progress. Spinning is done by turning the device, sliding your finger on the screen or flicking the screen in the appropriate direction. Nothing too complex here: Coins add points, plus signs add to the time limit, minus signs subtract from your time, and so on. It’s pretty much a carbon copy of the arcade sleeper, but, like many arcade games, you’ll probably expect more depth from the home version than you would from a five-minute arcade experience. As a result, Cameltry is a decent, but ultimately flat experience. The addition of, say, Super Mario Bros.-style hidden levels, an additional mode or even a 2-player race option would have made it more compelling. As it is, Cameltry is a simple, serviceable game.
